OUR STAFF: Diego Salazar , Director and Owner A leader in the field of antique framing, Diego Salazar has framed fine art for more than 35 years. His clients include the Metropolitan Museum of Art, National Gallery of Art, and Museum of Modern Art. In addition to his knowledge and experience in antique framing, Mr. Salazar is also an expert in antique frame restoration and conservation. He is sought after as a consultant on all aspects of antique frame replication, in particular the reproduction of the beautifully aged gilded surface. His gallery is known for its scholarship, craftsmanship, and gracious service.
Michele Brangwen, Director of Sales Michele Brangwen brings more than 15 years experience in framing fine art to her work at Diego Salazar. She has worked with many museums and noted private and corporate collections of fine art. She has lectured on the history of antique frame design, artist designed frames, and antique frame evaluation and appraisal for Christie’s Auction House, Corcoran Gallery of Art, Museum of Fine Arts Houston, and New York University’s Appraisal Studies Course, as well as many other museums and collector’s groups. Ms. Brangwen has published articles on antique framing in the Parish Museum of Art Journal, Catalog of Art and Antiques, Antiques Weekly, and Picture Framing Magazine. |
